Spinal Decompression and Chiropractic Care
Chiropractics is a natural method of health care that has been around and practiced since 1895. The methods used by chiropractors are the use of spinal manipulation, adjustments, and spinal decompression therapy that are used to relieve back pain and discomfort as well as promote well-being. Most chiropractors will use a philosophy on the human body based on the fact that the human body is able to restore and heal itself. This ability is largely dependent on a healthy spinal column, vertebrae and most importantly, nervous system.
Spinal Decompression Therapy
Spinal decompression therapy is a method used by most chiropractors to relieve pressure on one or many pinched nerves in the spinal column. Most patients of chiropractic care are in favor of spinal decompression techniques as an alternative to surgical alternatives.
With spinal decompression, there are two types of treatment. One being mechanical traction and the other being inversion therapy. Mechanical traction involves a computer system strategically manipulating the force and angel of traction. The second is inversion therapy which involves hanging upside down.
Chiropractic care is viewed as a safe modality for spinal care and pain treatment according to some articles written in 2007 and 2009 documenting only mild soreness and discomfort after treatment.
